Alison Roman’s cookbooks, Nothing Fancy and Dining In, are the most completed books in my collection with 25 recipes tried! (You can see what I’ve already made here.) So, with the announcement of her new book coming out next year, I thought I’d revisit her two classics this month.
November Books: Nothing Fancy and Dining In by Alison Roman
I loved the concept of this lemony greens pizza (pg. 264, nothing fancy), but I didn’t care for the focaccia bread base. I like focaccia and I like pizza, but I don’t need them together. I am, and always will be, a thin crust gal. If I choose do this recipe again, I’ll go with a more classic pizza dough. As for the focaccia (pg. 70, nothing fancy) recipe itself, I still think this one from Bon Appetit is better.
If you’re looking for an impressive dessert with little effort, I recommend this chocolate-tahini tart with crunchy salt (pg. 269, dining in). This tart came together very easily, with no special equipment required - plus, it’s delicious!
Thanks for reading, sweeties! 🍎
I'm having trouble imagining the tahini in cake... but it did sort of make me want a falafel!
