Somebody call the IRS because I'm about to cook the books. 😎

Cook the Books is a monthly series that answers the age-old question, “What would happen if I actually ~*read*~ the cookbooks that are stacked up in the corner of my bedroom?” 🤔 It’s not such a crazy idea…

Basically, this is a personal project that I have turned into content that nobody asked for. Each month I chose a cookbook out of my collection and cook from it all month long. A premise that I’m sure you’ll recognize from the 2009 movie Julie & Julia, where a sad New Yorker vows to make all 524 recipes in Julia Childs' Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and then it somehow ruins her sex life. Unlike that psycho Julie though, I’m not vowing to cook every recipe in every book. After all, I am but one person with one appetite (and of sound mind). I choose anywhere between three to six recipes a week and document my hits and misses at the end of each month. And so far it has had no impact on my sex life.

Why subscribe?

This little newsletter will hit your inbox every Sunday (in theory) where I will share all of the recipes I made, my thoughts on said recipes and any other food-related topics that I feel like sharing. My newsletter, my rules!! Maybe this will inspire you to pick up that dusty cookbook you’ve been hoarding and try a new recipe! If it does, let me know about it.

Oh! Also, if you have any cookbook suggestions or recipe questions my DMs are always open @meaganrochard. I also accept free things.

Bone apple tea! 🍎
